    When Swedish-born entrepreneur Staffan Ahrenberg first came to Paris at age 18 from the rural Swiss village where he grew up, the beauty of France's capital immediately captivated him. "It has a human scale," he says. "There's a relationship between the pedestrian proportions and the city as an automotive place." For the decades that followed, whenever Ahrenberg had a couple of free days and didn't know where to go, he would travel to Paris.

    In recent years, the city has become more of a home base and less a place to visit for Ahrenberg--he spends about three to four months a year there. Three years ago, he acquired the Parisian publishing house and gallery Cahiers d'Art, founded by Christian Zervos in Now, as the organization's leader, he's working to rebuild and rejuvenate the enterprise, or, as he puts it, "make it as accessible to as many collectors and people worldwide as possible."
