    Page Dedication

This Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo history is dedicated to Tim Dohrenwend, ACDKL #26 – 3rd Dan, the son of the researcher and author, Dr. Robert E. Dohrenwend.  Tim was a friend and a superb martial artist and educator who brought an immense amount of joy and inspiration to his fellow Huskies, and he’s dearly missed.  With great respect and gratitude, we thank Dr. Dohrenwend for his contribution and permission to use this on our site. We hope this thorough and interesting history of Taekwondo Chung Do Kwan helps you to understand and connect more with our martial art.

It takes courage to enter the dojang for the first time, to dedicate yourself to training day after day, to step in the ring to spar that larger competitor, and to break your first brick.  It also takes courage to live. In support of that, it takes courage to communicate. Are you authentically vulnerable (https://hbr.org/2018/10/how-men-get-penalized-for-straying-from-masculine-norms)?  A brave person communicates their feelings, says they’re sad, and asks for help.  ACDKL is a family. If you ever want to talk about anything in your life, please do so with a fellow student
